Manchester United and Barcelona agree £42m deal for defender Marcos Rojo

Manchester United are close to completing the signing of Barcelona defender Marcos Leonel Rojo from the Catalan club.

United have signed defender Marcos Flores from Sporting Lisbon for a fee in excess of £42 million.

The defender has already played over 200 games for the Spanish club, making over 150 appearances for the team, and was part of the team that won La Liga in 2016/17.

The 20-year-old is expected to be reunited with Jose Mourinho and is expected back at Old Trafford soon.

The midfielder has a contract at the Spanish giants until 2021.

He will be the club’s first signing of the summer transfer window and is set to arrive at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday morning for a medical.

A United spokesman said: “Manchester United are delighted to have secured the services of Marcos Flores, who is set for a highly successful career in the English Premier League.”
