Real estate finder to shut down after fraud probe

Real estate agents in Idaho will close their doors after being caught with $1.7 million in fake documents to sell a home.

The sale was set to go through with an undisclosed buyer.

The Idaho Real Estate Association says it notified state authorities about the transaction on Tuesday and said it’s working with the U.S. Department of Justice.

The Idaho Attorney General’s Office says the agents violated state law by falsifying records.

It’s the latest scam in the booming real estate market in Idaho.

The U.P. has sold more than 100,000 homes in the past year and is valued at more than $5 billion.
