Trump campaign hires former hedge fund manager for Trump White House role

President Donald Trump’s campaign is hiring a former hedge-fund manager for a White House job, according to The Associated Press.

Steve Bannon, a former chairman of the conservative media outlet Breitbart News, will serve as the White House’s political director.

Bannon has been in the public eye since joining the Trump administration in August.

Bannon is a former senior executive at Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and served as the chairman of Breitbart News for two years before leaving in February.

His appointment to the position comes a few weeks after he was named as Trump’s senior adviser.

Bannon said in a statement on Friday that he had accepted the job, which he described as a “senior position.”

Trump has been critical of his former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who was fired after he faced charges of assaulting a reporter.
